40 Hour Sexual Assault Services Advocacy Training

Volunteers interested in sexual assault services advocacy work need to complete a state-mandated 40 hour training. ISD 191 Community Education and 360 Communities is offering the training every Monday and Wednesday, from March 6th to April 26th.
You will hear from a variety of presenters ranging from medical to legal advocacy, reflecting the multidisciplinary approach to victims services. You will also learn how social norms contribute to sexual violence.
Participants will have the opportunity to volunteer in the shelter as a crisis advocate, to answer the phone crisis line, to facilitate support groups, as well as attend medical advocacies.
Location: ISD 191 Community Education, Diamondhead Education Center – CE 104, unless otherwise noted.

Cost: $125, with $100 reimbursed after 6 months of being on call for two shifts per month for sexual assault services hospital calls.
