EDUCATION HELPS DRIVE SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS

According to a recent report by Greater Twin Cities United Way, education is a critical driver of upward mobility.

The report says "early intervention in the form of high-quality child care and preschool can help children get off on the right foot. Continuing support throughout the school years and helping to connect these youth to post-secondary education will have a positive, long-term effect on lifetime earnings."

360 Communities has school success programs that aim to do just that. We understand that in order to break the cycle of poverty, we need to work with children from birth through high school graduation.

MINNESOTA TWINS AND
360 COMMUNITIES VOLUNTEERS WIN!

360 Communities volunteers recently braved the chilly weather at Target Field to watch the Twins beat the Baltimore Orioles 8-5.

The Twins donated the tickets to 360 Communities to thank our volunteers for their service to our communities.

As an added bonus, it was Cap Day at Target Field!

Thank you, Minnesota Twins! And thanks to all of our volunteers for providing hope and support to our neighbors in Dakota County. You are 360 Communities!

COMMUNITY MEMBERS LIGHT CANDLES FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS

There was a strong turn out for the Fourth Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Walk on April 24th.

At least 100 concerned community members braved the cold and rain to take part in the candlelight walk. Participants included members of the military, police officers, Dakota County District Attorney Jim Backstrom and Burnsville City Council Member Mary Sherry.

360 Communities presented Kelly Nicholson, victim witness program supervisor for the Dakota County Attorney's office, with the Community Caring Award for her work to end domestic violence and sexual assault in our communities.

Sexual assault survivor Janine Montgomery also shared her experiences with sexual violence and talked about the importance of staying alert to the signs of sexual abuse in others.
